Back in the early 1990s I had a new girlfriend. Our relationship had not been lasting for long, so I wasn´t part of her Christmas plans. She was about to visit her sister in Cleveland, OH. Being alone at home, I got a phone call from her on Christmas eve. After a short long-distance conversation I wrote this song. When we recorded this song many years later sound engineer Oliver Gabay and I could not agree on the style of the arrangement. So in the end we produced two versions and now it is up to you to say which one of them you prefer.
